This service provides a range of early intervention and practical support services for young people aged 12 -18 years and their family members. All direct services have a focus on improving family relationships, reducing family conflict and re-engaging or maintaining a young person’s participation in family, education, training, employment and the community.
The service has a focus on building on family strengths and abilities to therefore assist families to develop and maintain healthy and positive relationships between each other.
The Youth and Family Support service provides a comprehensive and co-ordinated response to vulnerable young people and families by providing one or more of the following service components:
- Parenting Programs
- Support for young people in education
- Living skills development
- Practical assistance and support
- Conflict resolution
- Telephone counselling and support
- Case management
- Liaison with other services
- Information and referral
Families can be referred to the Youth and Family Support Service by another service or agency, or they can refer themselves. Agency referrals require the completion of a referral form.
