Tailored Support to Foster Well-being

Veritas House Support Service facilitates meaningful and safe mentoring and contact between children and their families. Our services are designed to meet the needs of vulnerable children and young people in Out of Home Care, as well as those involved in Family Law matters.

Our priority is the wellbeing and safety of children, while providing meaningful opportunities for children and parents to maintain, improve, or re-establish their relationships. Contact visits allow parents to showcase their relationship and parenting skills. These visits are observed and monitored in a supportive and positive environment, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience for both parents and children. Our commitment is to deliver services through highly qualified, experienced, and professional staff. We uphold strict confidentiality standards and provide meticulously written, detailed, and factual reports.

Apr Supervised
Supervised Contact

We create safe and supportive environments for family visits. This service is designed for children and young people in foster care, as well as children of separated parents. It ensures that children have safe and meaningful contact with the parent they do not reside with, fostering positive relationships and emotional wellbeing.

Veritas How We Help
Supervised Handover/Changeover

Facilitating smooth transitions between parents in high-conflict situations. This service is also beneficial for families with Court Orders prohibiting contact, including Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders, ensuring safe and structured exchanges.

Apr Mentorship
Mentoring

We build positive relationships and skills for vulnerable children. Our mentors empower children by providing knowledge, skill development, and self-esteem. They help navigate challenges, develop a positive identity, and manage stress to enhance wellbeing. With a focused approach, mentors assist in setting and achieving specific goals. Our experienced staff provide quality mentoring and youth work to adolescents in foster care.

Veritas Respie
Respite

We offer planned, recurring, or one-off time-limited respite for children and young people in foster care, arranged with case workers. While we do not provide overnight accommodation, our staff can offer support either in the carer's home or alternate locations. Respite is designed to give placements a break or alleviate pressure in emergency situations.

These services are funded by NSW Department of Communities and Justice through Casework Support Services.
