  • What is Family Preservation?

The Family Preservation Program aims to keep children safe at home with their families and reduce the need for children and young people to enter Out of Home Care (OOHC) or have ongoing involvement with the child protection system.
Families Together is a voluntary program that works alongside families to build on their strengths, increase parenting confidence, improve family functioning, and create safe and nurturing home environments for children and young people.

Support is tailored to each family’s individual needs and may include:

    • Parenting support and skill development
    • Child development and wellbeing support
    • Practical in-home assistance
    • Advocacy and connection to community services
    • Support to improve safety, stability, and family relationships

Services are generally delivered for up to 12 months, with the level of support determined collaboratively with each family.

What Can Be Expected
  • Extending Our Support

Veritas House has extensive experience supporting vulnerable children, young people, and families through trauma-informed, person-centred, and strengths-based practice.
Our organisation has built a strong reputation for delivering compassionate, high-quality services that focus on safety, connection, wellbeing, and long-term positive outcomes.
The Families Together program is a natural extension of the work we already do across our therapeutic, family, and community support services. We understand the importance of early intervention and the value of working collaboratively with families to achieve lasting change.

    Our team is committed to:

    • Building strong and respectful relationships with families
    • Delivering flexible and responsive supports
    • Working collaboratively with community partners and specialist services
    • Helping families remain safely together wherever possible

We are excited to bring our experience, values, and local knowledge into the family preservation space and continue supporting stronger outcomes for children and families across our region.
