Strengthen Your Family Relationships

We understand that families play a crucial role in our lives. When family relationships are strong, everyone feels happier and more secure. But being part of a family isn't always easy. That’s why we offer support to families before things get too tough to manage. We help parents feel more confident in caring for their kids, strengthen family relationships, and reduce conflicts.

Our family support programs are available for families with at least one child under the age of 17, living in Bathurst's Local Government Area. Our focus is on early intervention, especially in areas where families may face challenges like relationship issues, domestic violence, child neglect, or feeling isolated.

Our dedicated Family Workers will meet you wherever you feel most comfortable, providing support that suits your family's needs.

Targeted
  • Targeted Family Services (TFS)

Our Targeted Family Service (TFS) provides parenting programs and support tailored to meet the needs of families who have children 0-17 years old within the Bathurst Regional Council area. TFS works with families, focusing on increasing family wellbeing, improving family relationships and reducing family conflict. As part of our individualised parenting support we provide intensive assistance to families experiencing a higher level of stress. Support is provided in a one on one setting with one of our Family Caseworkers.

We work with families to increase wellbeing, improve relationships and reduce conflict.

Pressure
  • The Parents Under Pressure Program (PUP)

The Parents Under Pressure Program helps parents and carers who are dealing with a lot of stress. It creates a special plan for each family using ideas from child development, bonding, and handling feelings.

The goal is to ensure that children can reach their full potential and that parents and carers can make a happy home and build good relationships for them to do so. In this program, families become more caring and have fewer arguments. Both parents and children learn how to control their behaviour better.

  • These services are funded by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice through Specialist Homelessness Services for Bathurst and Orange, and Western NSW Homeless Youth Assistance.
