With National Homelessness Week around the corner we decided it was the perfect time to launch our new Homelessness Everyday Needs Fund and we are asking for the local community to consider supporting this fund when next making a donation to Veritas House.
This fund assists our Homelessness and Early Intervention team to better support young people who are in need of everyday items such as medication, haircuts, food staples, dental treatment, clothes and personal identification but do not have the financial means to be able to access them. Whilst Government funding and brokerage covers some things, unfortunately there is a shortfall where some things are just not able to be funded. This fund ensures that the young people who are already in crisis and are extremely vulnerable are able to access basic and often crucial things which most of us take for granted.
