A charity golf day to raise funds for local charity Veritas House will be held at Ex Services Golf Club on Friday, 22 November from 1.30pm and organisers are encouraging local golfers to get involved.

Organised by local business AWCON, the afternoon features an impressive line-up of prizes, including a brand new Mazda 3 from John Davis Motors as a hole-in-one prize. According to AWCON CEO, Paul Montagliani, the day is designed to be a lot of fun, while supporting local children and young people in our community.

“We have had a really positive response to the day through our business networks, so hadn’t opened registrations up to the public up to now as we were worried the day would be over-subscribed,” explained Paul. “Unfortunately, we’ve had some people who were really keen now advise they are unable to play, which is disappointing for them, but creates a great opportunity for local golfers to get involved.”

A two-ball ambrose event, the day will tee off with a shot gun start at 1.30pm and will also feature a BBQ, auctions at the clubhouse at the end of the day and plenty of prizes, in addition to the car. Numbers on the course however are limited, so anyone interested in registering a team should register and pay their $40 per player as soon as possible, by visiting the Veritas House website: https://veritashouse.org.au/golf/ or by emailing veritas@awcon.com.au.

“AWCON has always been passionate about supporting our local community, and decided earlier in the year that we were keen to team up with Veritas to conduct a range of fundraising activities to support them once we heard about the great work they do to assist homeless young people and children in foster care in the Orange community,” said Paul.

“With the drought and the bushfires and so much negativity going on of late, we also think it is a positive way for locals – regardless of their golfing abilities, to take some time out to get some exercise, socialise with a fun group of people and raise much needed funds for a great cause.”

In addition to donations of prizes and the commitment of AWCON, the day has been generously supported by a large number of sponsors, including Endacom, M2P Engineering, PHE, Cadia, UCA, SRG, Fentarian, CJD and John Davis Motors.

All of the funds raised from the day will support the services delivered by Veritas to children and young people in the Orange community.
