Fundraising

Fundraising activities carried out by Veritas House will comply with all relevant laws. Any communications to the public made while carrying out a fundraising activity shall be truthful and non-deceptive. All monies raised through fundraising activities will be for the stated purpose of the appeal and will comply with the organisation’s stated mission and purpose.

Donations & Gifts

As a community-based not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity, Veritas House solicits and accepts donations, gifts and grants for purposes that will help the organisation further and fulfil its mission. Donations will be accepted at the discretion of Veritas House, from individuals, partnerships, corporations, organisations, government agencies or other entities without limitations—unless acceptance of gifts from a specific source is inconsistent with the organisation’s vision, mission and organisation values.

Veritas House will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, Veritas House will restrict information about the donor to the Executive. Personal information on donors will be collected, used and managed in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Refunds

Due to the nature of charity donations, refunds are given at the discretion of our management. Please make sure that the amount you enter is the amount you wish to give. In the event of an incorrect amount being entered, or if the donation is made accidently or there is an extremely unusual circumstance, please email us at contact@veritashouse.org.au. We will review the request and respond. We will refund if there was a system error with the donation processing.

Events and Tickets

The following terms and conditions will help all patrons to enjoy the event that tickets have been purchased for. Tickets entitle the holder to attend the event at the date, time and location stated on the ticket and/or selected at the time of purchase through official sales channels. By purchasing a ticket, the buyer and/or the holder agrees to the following:

  1. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that all details are correct at the time of purchase especially the event name, date, time and location. The ticket may not be exchanged, refunded or returned except in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
  2. Tickets purchased from third party resale sites may not gain you entry to an event, as we cannot guarantee that the ticket/s will be valid.
  3. The right of admission is reserved including where entry is delayed for late arrivals, refused or where a customer is asked to leave the premises.
  4. Food and alcohol not purchased at the venue will be refused entry.

The above terms and conditions are consistent with Australian Consumer Law and the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice and their Safe Tix Guide. The right is reserved to vary these terms and conditions and updates may be made available via veritashouse.org.au.

Ticket prices are correct at time of quotation or publication but are subject to change at the discretion of Veritas House.

Postponement / cancellation policy & refunds

Should the Event be rescheduled by Veritas House, tickets purchased for the original date will be valid for the new date. Ticket holders can request a refund if they are unable to attend on the rescheduled date but must be received no less than seven (7) days prior to the rescheduled date.

Should the Event be cancelled by Veritas House, all fees will be refunded in full. Attendees may, at their election, transfer credit as a donation towards Veritas House or receive a full refund.

If you can no longer attend the Event, you may cancel your registration by providing written notice to Veritas House.

If notice of cancellation is given by you at least seven (7) days prior to the date of the Event, Veritas House, may at its sole discretion, provide a refund of the fee minus any reasonable administration costs (as determined by Veritas House).

Veritas House may refuse any requests for refunds made for cancellations received less than seven (7) days prior to the date of the Event.

No refunds will be given in respect of any non-attendance.

Raffles and Auctions

As a community-based not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity, Veritas House may from time to time conduct fundraising activities such as raffles and auctions for purposes that will help the organisation further and fulfil its mission. Raffles and auctions will be conducted in a manner that is fair and impartial.

Raffles will be open to anyone who wishes to enter, however individuals conducting the raffle, including those Veritas House staff involved in determining the prize winner cannot enter the raffle.

All auction sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. The cost of mailing and delivery of auction items is at the expense of the auction winner. All items are “as is.” Veritas House will attempt to describe and catalogue items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in promotional materials, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.

Auction item values will be listed as an estimate of fair market value. Payment for items purchased must be made in full at the time the auction is undertaken. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from Veritas House and its employees, the auctioneer(s), the auction company and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.

Veritas House reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from any organised auction.
