Grant a Wish this Christmas
Christmas wishes for more than 200 local children and young people have been placed on our Christmas Wishing Trees across Orange and Bathurst. With more Christmas wishes to fulfil than ever before, we’re calling on local residents to embrace the spirit of giving and purchase a gift for a child or young person who is at risk or experiencing homelessness or unlikely to receive a gift this year due to hardship.
Each tree has on display gift tags that contain the Christmas wish list for each child for people to simply select a tag and bring it back over the next two weeks with their preferably unwrapped gift.
Collect a tag from:
29 Sale Street
106 Russell Street
96 Bentinck Street
165 Howick Street
Can’t physically collect a tag and drop off a gift? You can still get involved! Phone us on 6332 3882 and we will let you know the wish list of a child or young person, purchase a gift online and have it delivered directly to Veritas House.
Alternatively, make a tax-deductible donation over $2 and we will purchase a gift on your behalf.
“Children and young people enter into foster care for a myriad of reasons, but generally they have experienced a degree of trauma, neglect and abuse that required intervention and removal for their own safety and well-being,” explained, Jody. “Veritas House Foster Carers in Bathurst and Orange provide a secure, safe and supportive home environment to these children and young people, but there is no doubt that Christmas can still be a tough time. We are hoping local residents and businesses will assist us to bring some joy into the lives of special local children this Christmas by placing a gift under one of our two trees, so that we can make Christmas Day a special day the children will truly remember.”
